WHY SWITCH TO SOLAR NOW?

Eliminate those monthly surprises. Electricity rates from Eskom have increased on average over 10% per year. Eskom has requested increases of over 32% for the next year. Plus, Eskom’s performance means we might have a few more heavy increases in the future. Lock in your electricity rates now and save BIG.

Your New SOLAR system is GUARANTEED to pay for itself with your electricity savings. Once paid off, you’ll be producing FREE pure, clean, green energy. No other home improvement continues to put money in your pocket, month after month after month.

Financing is easily available with numerous options. We’re experts when it comes to financing your Solar project. You could even be cash-flow positive from day one. Solar adds value to your HOME without increasing your property taxes

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1

Choose your solar Solution

If your family home or small business is in need of electricity back-up, a battery only solution is ideal for you as it will provide you with power when Eskom is down or during an unexpected power cut.

A hybrid solar solution (which includes solar panels and a back up battery), reduce the cost of your electricity consumption as well as avoid the effects of load shedding.

2

Rental Agreement

The electricity user (customer) rents a solar power system or a back-up battery solution from SolarEPC Rentals (the system owner).

The customer pays a monthly rental fee and uses all the electricity produced by the solar system and/or enjoys the benefit of no unexpected power cuts.

3

PV System Installation

SolarEPC Rentals installs and commission’s the chosen solution on the property of the customer. The customer rents the system from SolarEPC Rentals for a period of 7 years.

4

PV System Installation Operation

The customer operates the system, uses all the electricity produced by the solar panels, enjoys savings of up to 90% on his/her electricity bill and/or avoids load shedding and any other unexpected power cuts.24/7 support and advice is provided by the system owner on how to maximise your energy output.

4

PV System Installation Ownership

At any point after the initial 8 months the customer can elect to buy out the system at a value determined using a depreciation of 1% per month. At the end of the 7 year rental period, this buy out value is however reduced to just 10% of the original system value. The customer then becomes the owner of the system and continues to save on his electricity bill without the added monthly rental fee.You have the flexibility of transferring the rental contract to a new homeowner at any time before the end of the 7 year rental period.

RENTING SCENARIO

Typically, Sarah consumes 70% of her electricity between 4pm and 8am. Her average electricity bill is R2,000.

According to the current electricity tariffs Sarah is paying an average of R2.28/kWH (incl VAT) for her electricity consumption.

If Sarah were to install 14 x 365watt panels on her roof and install our 11.4kW battery, we estimate that she will save R1,350 on her electricity bill per month.

Sarah will also be able to retain 20% of the battery capacity at all times for the event of a possible power outage or load shedding.

If Sarah takes advantage of our rental option she will pay R2,945 a month to rent the full system while saving the R1,350 on her electricity bill, resulting in an additional cost per month of only R1,595

CONCLUTION

Sarah is now free from the effects of load-shedding and after renting the system for 7 years he will be able to buy the system at just 10% of its original cost knowing that the panels had a 25 year life span and the batteries will still have at least 80% of their original capacity at the end of the 7 years.

Yes. Yes, when you enter into a rental contract, SolarEPC Rentals will offer free telephonic and online technical support with the monitoring software, the interpretation of data and advice on load usage and load shifting to ensure that the system is performing optimally .

SolarEPC has its own, permanently employed installation teams in the major metro’s and are not sub-contracting to the cheapest available installer.

We have done this for 2 reasons :
1) Reduce potential downtime and mistakes by ensuring quality installation techniques and procedures are followed to the same standard we have done for the last 15 years for our large commercial and industrial customers.

2) Security knowing that the teams are permanently employed and have undergone security checks as opposed to not knowing who is on site.
With a solar rental agreement, you agree to pay a fixed monthly rental fee, in exchange for the right to use and enjoy the benefits of the solar power system or battery back-up system.

With a solar PPA (power purchase agreement), instead of paying a “rental fee” for the solar system, you agree to purchase the power generated by the system at a set per-kWh price.
Quality solar installations are costly. While buying solar production system gives you the best return on investment, not everyone has the cash on hand to cover the upfront costs of going solar.
Luckily, South African’s can take advantage of financing options, like solar leases, solar loans and mortgage extensions to help them afford to make the switch to solar.
But which solar financing option is the best for you?

A solar loan from your bank is the most cost effective route to owning your solar. SolarEPC knows that not everyone has immediate access to cash and that this can be a slow process. Our Rent-To-Own option allows you to pay the minimum deposit upfront or top it up to reduce the monthly rentals. In addition, there are no penalties for early settlement and only a 1% cancellation fee is charged.
A solar rental agreement with buy-out options means that your cost of purchasing your system declines every year into the rental but comes with slightly higher rentals upfront.

A Solar-As-A-Service lease is the cheapest way to rent solar but also means that you will never own the asset and the buy-out price at any stage is higher than the rent-to-own contract. You could find yourself wanting to buy the system in 3 years time and regretting not going rent-to-own

RENTING INTRODUCTION
